The web pages on the link below aim to give simple, straightforward advice to parishes as to how they can raise money towards the cost of maintaining and developing their church building, hall, or community centre, and make financially sustainable as an instrument of outreach to meet the needs of their catchment area.
Church buildings are at one and the same time, as joy, a delight, an opportunity and a challenge. They matter, not just to the regular congregation but often to the wider community too. A major repair need, or a lack of facilities to do the work the church needs, can seem to be a burden. By engaging those many others who care about our buildings and what they can provide, the challenge becomes more manageable.
Every church is unique so every appeal has to be tailored to suit the place. No guidance notes can cover every case so we have listed only those organisations that are in a position to make grants over the country as a whole, rather than those who are restricted to particular areas (apart from the county trusts).
Whatever your project, we, and EIO wish you well in your endeavours to use and maintain your building for the mission of the church, outreach, and the service of the world.
