Homelessness | Rough Sleepers } Resources

PLEASE NOTE that this Project is an OnLine contacts and resources website and Message Board and does not itself                                    operate night shelters or associated support services. This is not an exhaustive list and will inevitably change.   The                                    Contacts below were first produced some little time ago and therefore will change from time to time with some venues                              having closed, or moved; and some new ones coming online.    However, even some of these will at least may well be able to re-direct you to other contacts known through historical networks.   Nonetheless, we update the this website and our other Message Board periodically as more information or amendments become available.   We, however welcome information that would help update the undermentioned to help those in need.

PLEASE REMEMBER  Avoid sending any homeless person indiscriminately to any Night Shelter before first making                                 contact with the shelter. It is appreciated that this is often frustrating and sometimes difficult.   However, sending a                                   exhausted homeless person, (perhaps from one side of London to another in hope), only for them to arrive to be told that it is not open, or they are full, potentially has far more ramifications and psychological damage to a person already suffering.

London Street Rescue helps rough sleepers off the streets and into accommodation. If you are concerned about someone sleeping rough, you can call them outside of normal hours on 0870 383 3333 or tell them about someone through their online referral form.

About London Street Rescue: Every night of the year, they are out and about across the capital, acting as a safety net for                            some of society's most vulnerable men and women. Their teams of outreach workers and volunteers find and engage with rough sleepers in a bid to help them off the streets.

London Street Rescue operates within the London Boroughs, but some London Boroughs use other outreach teams to support Rough Sleepers.

Click a Borough on the map by clicking on the LSR name to be taken to the London Street Rescue and Street Link referral                         page or to see the contact details of the appropriate outreach team.

If the person you are concerned about needs medical assistance, please call 101, or for emergencies then call 999.

Click on the other Boroughs via the hyperlink for contact details of their outreach teams.  Many, (not all), rough sleepers are known to the Outreach Teams who maintain a database of known 'verified' rough sleepers known a CHAIN - (Central Homeless Access Information Network).  There is also a GLA team to help homeless people sleeping on transport.
